Over a period of 50 years, Mies van der Rohe was responsible for many of the world’s most important designs in architecture, furniture, lighting, and modern design philosophy. Important designs such as the Barcelona Pavilion, the Seagram Building in New York, and the Farnsworth House cemented his name as a legend of modern classic design.
Mies van der Rohe was born in 1886 in the German Rhineland. He studied at the Domschule in Aachen from 1896 to 1899.
